History of Fallas
Fallas is one of the most deep rooted festivals of Spain,  celebrated in the city of Valencia, and also towns & villages of the same community or region, its history is traced back as far as the middle of the 18th century. The satirical monuments were constructed by the neighbours to ridicule situations or characters of the time and could include characatures of locals. Traditionally the children of the neighbourhood would collect house to house unwanted furniture and materials to burn with the falla. This act is called Cant De l'estoreta and is still celebrated today in Febuary by Falla comissions of Valencia.
The official Opening of Fallas (la Crida) occurs on the last Sunday of Febuary  at the Torres de Serranos, when  the Fallera Mayor of Valencia calls Valencianos to start the celebrations.
The main fiesta is celebrated 15th - 19th March. starting with La plantá (15th), 16th Judging of the Monuments, Ofrenda  (17th-18th), Nit de Foc (night of 18th) & La Cremà San José (Night of 19th).

Falla Plaza Sant Bult
The first recorded Falla planted in Plaza Sant Bult was in 1875, since then the Plaza has seen monuments of all shapes and sizes. The falla is not just about participating 15th - 19th March.  All year round the hardworking Falleros and Falleras both seniors & juniors dedicate themselves to funding and preparation of the celebrations, culminating in the planting of these monuments, in March.
Our Falla has seen highs and lows in its history  and currently enjoys healthy participation of 260 falleros (209 seniors & 51 juniors). During this time there have been 18 presidents the first of which was recorded in the year 1895. The first Fallera Mayor presided in the year 1950. The first Fallera Mayor Infantil & President Infantil both celebrated their reigns in 1960.

The emblem of the Falla was commisioned  in 1955 by the vice president D. Jose Broch, under the presidency of D. Jose Codina Cervero.   Its design captures the essence of the Falla with the inclusion of various streets and landmarks of the area,  for example Calle Nuestra Sra. de las Nieves is represented by snow covered peaks, Calle Espada (Sword street)  by the sword in the foreground. Also present are the Bell tower of the Royal Chapel of Santo Domingo in Plaza Tetuan and the two patron saints of valencia  San Vicente Ferrer & San Vicente Martir represented by the statues of the Puente Real (Royal bridge).
